Product description

Men’s 230 Competition performance boxers have been designed for extreme winter sports and very cold temperatures. The added polyamide fibre does not in any way diminish the properties of Tasmanian wool. On the contrary, the combination of these materials makes this clothing very comfortable to wear. The fabric is ribbed which provides even greater stretch and freedom of movement. The material has been developed on the basis of body mapping technology, which means that each part has been knitted in a different way and weight. Because of this, 230 Competition clothing wicks moisture away from the skin faster and keeps certain parts warmer.

Tasmanian wool is excellent at temperature control and wicks sweat away from the skin really well. The material is extremely hardwearing and resistant to damage, making it perfect for performance clothing. This high quality Tasmanian Merino wool is superb at retaining heat, keeping you nice and warm in very cold conditions. On the other hand, when it suddenly gets warm or when you work really hard, it cools you down, wicking moisture away from the skin to the surface where it evaporates.

ORTOVOX
For over 30 years, the Ortovox company has been manufacturing clothing and accessories for freeriders, mountain guides and other winter sports enthusiasts. Ortovox clothing is used by the Mountain Rescue in Austria, the Avalanche Warning Service in Tyrol and the Mountain Rescue in the Czech Republic.

How to care for the product

Thermal underwear

Items made of sheep’s wool are easy to care for. Thanks to its natural lanolin content, wool can clean itself. You can help this process by giving your woolly items a good shake and airing them outside regularly. This way, the material retains its fluffiness and softness, while excess moisture is removed, which prevents dust mites from breeding. In addition, the natural smell of wool dissipates more quickly with regular airing. 

The thermal underwear is usually machine washable up to 30°C. Always follow the product label instructions to see if the product is suitable for machine washing and what temperature to wash it at.

How to measure?

Clothing for children and adults

Our sheep wool vests are straight cut, so they are the same width all the way round. We therefore recommend that you measure at the widest point of your torso, and choose a vest at least a few centimetres larger to accommodate another layer of clothing underneath.

Merino wool sweaters are made from a wool knit, so they are stretchy and conform to your body shape. For children's patterns, you just need to know your torso height, but for adult sweaters chest circumference is also important. Use this information to choose the ideal size quickly and easily.

We recommend that you choose thermal underwear that is more fitted to the body. Sizes may vary between manufacturers, so please check the size charts before purchasing.
